Once we learn some Ayurveda basics, together we'll create a Multani Mitti, or mineral rich earthen clay base, for our face masks.
Multani Mitti has been used in South Asian homes as self-care rituals for generations, reminding us that the earth has always been medicine. Long before industrial beauty culture, our ancestors turned to soil, plants, and water for purification and renewal. Working with this clay is a small way of reconnecting with those decolonized traditions of care, honoring the land as something we belong to, not something we consume.
Once our rich clay base is prepared, you will personalize your mask with dosha-supportive botanical add-ins such as hibiscus flower, aloe vera, rose water, brahmini powder, and other plant allies, while learning how each ingredient supports the body, skin, and mind rejuvenation from an Ayurvedic perspective.
Multani Mitti is especially loved during this season for its ability to gently purify, cool, and refresh the skin while reconnecting us with the grounding element of earth.
Once our masks are mixed and bottled to take home, we’ll settle into 30 minutes of a guided Japa Mala meditation, using the 108 repetitions of mantra to cultivate calm, clarity, and inner steadiness creating a combined self-care meditation practice for inner and outer balance, peace and restoration.
