In Hindu Vedic tradition, knowledge is not owned, it is carried. Yoga was never meant to be withheld by wealth, caste, or access, but shared through dāna : sacred giving according to one’s capacity. Offering this class by donation is an act of decolonizing yoga and restoring balance.
Step into a sanctuary of rest and nourishment created for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. A space where you are fully seen, fully held, and fully allowed to let go. Using props to support the body, this restorative yoga practice invites muscles to melt, the nervous system to soften, and the mind to settle, offering a rare pause from the constant demands placed on racialized bodies.
Here, rest is not indulgence, it is a reclamation. Together, we release tension, settle the senses, and return to a state of balance, clarity, and inner calm. This is a practice for those who carry the weight of survival and for anyone seeking to reconnect with their body, their breath, and their own sacred stillness.
Sacred Rest is an invitation to restore, replenish, and remember: the resilience, joy, and wholeness that has always lived within you.
BIPOC Communities whose bodies, cultures, and spiritual technologies have been historically exploited, erased, or excluded, up to and including today within modern yoga spaces can finally exhale and let go in shared community and understanding of lived experience.
This is yoga as remembrance.
This is practice rooted in dharma, not transaction, commodity or spiritual bypassing.
